The Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology BUET Eligible List 2025 was supposed to be published Today, 26 December 2024. The BUET shortlist has been published for the preliminary test. The primary selection list can be downloaded from the official website, admission but ac bd.
This year, the admission test for the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology will be taken in two steps. First, the pre-selection test will be taken, and later, the main admission test will be taken. The preliminary test will be taken in the MCQ method. It will be 100 Marks MCQ Test. The main admission test will be written.
The number of candidates scheduled for the preliminary admission test will be given the opportunity to participate in the admission test. The eligible candidates list of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology BUET will be published for this. Only shortlisted candidates will be considered eligible to participate in the Preliminary Test. Candidates who pass the preliminary examination will be selected for the written test.
BUET Shortlist 2025
The total number of seats in Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology is 1215. Of these, a total of 4 seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the Chittagong Hill Tracts and other tribal.
In contrast to these 1215 seats, a total of 12000 candidates will be given the opportunity to participate in the preliminary admission test. However, all candidates from hilly areas and small ethnic groups will be given the chance to take part the admission test. Candidates who have passed the Preliminary Admission Test will be able to participate in the main Admission Test.
In previous years, only selected shortlisted candidates got the opportunity to participate in the admission test. The shortlist for the preliminary examination will be released earlier this year, and the eligible candidates on the shortlist will get the opportunity to participate in the main admission test. In other words, the candidates will be selected in two steps before the admissions test.
How to know the BUET eligible list?
The Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology BUET Eligible List 2025 will be published only on the admission website. Two separate lists will be published on the website. A list of separate candidates will be published for Group-A Engineering Departments and Urban and Regional Planning and Group-B Engineering Departments, Urban and Regional Planning and Architecture Departments.
Applicants can download the BUET Eligible List 2025 from the Admissions Website of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology ugadmission.buet.ac.bd. Only candidates on the eligible candidates list can participate in the Preliminary Admission Test. To participate in the preliminary examination, the candidate has to download the admit card. Eligible candidates will be able to download the Admit Card for BUET Admission Test from the day of publication of the list. Admit Card will mention the date, place and other information of the admission test. Detailed seating arrangements may also be disclosed prior to the admission test.
No SMS will be sent to the applicant about the BUET Eligible List or Admit Card Download. Candidates will see the short list of eligible candidates on their own responsibility and will participate in the admission test by downloading the admit card from 26 December to 23 January. BUET Admission Test Schedule 2024-25
- Preliminary Test: The Preliminary Admission Test will be taken in two shifts. It will be held on 23 January 2025, and the results will be released on Saturday, 4 February 2025. Then, the main admission test will be held. Note that, due to the Corona situation, the dates of the Preliminary Admission Test and the main Admission Test may change.
BUET preliminary admission test will be held in two shifts every day. The schedule of shift based preliminary admission test is given below.

- Main Admission Test: Only candidates who have passed the Preliminary Admission Test will be given the opportunity to participate in the Main Admission Test. The main admission test will be held on Thursday, 13 February 2025. The admission test of module A will be held from 10 am to 12 pm, and the admission test of module B will be held from 2 pm to 3:30 pm. The Selected Candidates’ Merit List and waiting candidates’ list for admission after the main admission test will be published on Thursday, 08 March 2025.
