The medical college admission test for the academic session of 2023-24 was held on February 9, 2024, in 19 centers and 57 venues across Bangladesh. Through this test, students will be admitted to all government and private medical colleges in the country. In total, there are 37 government medical colleges with 5,380 seats for the MBBS course. Among these, there are 3,384 merit quotas, 846 district quotas, 87 freedom fighter quotas, and 33 tribal quotas.
Additionally, there are 71 private medical colleges in Bangladesh with a total of 6,772 seats for the MBBS course. The medical admission result 2024 will complete the admission process in all government and private medical colleges. International students also have the opportunity to get admission with separate seats in all the government and private medical colleges in Bangladesh.
Medical Admission Result 2024 Bangladesh
After admission in government medical colleges, the admission process in private medical colleges will start. Only students who are on the merit list published by DGME can apply for admission to private medical colleges. In other years, students who scored 40 or more marks in the admission test were considered eligible to apply for admission to private medical colleges. But this year, the rules have been changed. The Ministry of Health published the merit list of 33,860 candidates, and private medical colleges have to complete admission from this merit list. That is, there is an opportunity for admission up to a merit rank of 33,860 this year. No student will be considered eligible for admission to the medical college if they get 40 marks or more in the admission test but the merit rank is not within 33,860.
After the completion of admission from the 1st merit list in government medical colleges, the admission process will start from the second merit list. After the admission from the first merit list, the admission will be done from the waiting list in vacant seats. A few rounds of migration will be done before this. The admission process in government medical colleges will be completed through migration and various merit lists in the academic year 2023-2024. After that, the admission process in private medical colleges will start.
Each private medical college will publish a separate admission circular for admission. Merit listed students published by DGME can apply for admission in private medical colleges.
Medical Admission Result Date 2024
The Medical Admission Test Result was released on February 11, 2024. The BUET is responsible for preparing and publishing the results, and the Dhaka University is responsible for double-checking the results. If the double-checking is finished by February 11th, the results will be declared in the afternoon. Otherwise, the medical admission result will be published on Monday, February 12. The medical admission result date will be announced officially before the result release.
How to Check Medical Result 2024?
Students can check their Medical Result 2024 in two ways. Firstly, the Directorate General of Health Education will inform the students about the results through SMS. Secondly, the result can be known from the website of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). Only students on the merit list will be notified of the results via SMS, according to the DGME. All other students can know the result from the website.
