Dhaka Central University
Dhaka Central University (DCU) is a new public university in Bangladesh. It is the 57th public university in the country. The government formally established it on 8 February 2026. DCU is a federal university. It brings seven famous government colleges under one system.

- Government Bangla College

The DCU Admission Circular 2026 invites students to the 1st year Bachelor (Honours) class. The course is four years long. Admission is open in three units: Science, Arts & Social Science, and Business Studies.

A few colleges have gender rules. Eden Mohila College and Begum Badrunnesa College are for female students only. Dhaka College is for male students only. Application Eligibility
You must pass SSC (or equivalent) between 2020 and 2023. You must pass HSC (or equivalent) in 2024 or 2025. Students who passed HSC in 2023 or earlier cannot apply. Each unit has its own rules.
Science Unit: You need an HSC science background. Home Economics, Alim (science), technical board science, or IAL/A-Level science are also accepted. Your combined GPA (SSC + HSC, with 4th subject) must be at least 7.0.
Arts & Social Science Unit: You need an HSC humanities background. Alim (general or humanities) or IAL/A-Level are also fine. Your combined GPA (with 4th subject) must be at least 6.0.
Business Studies Unit: You need HSC Business Studies, A-Level, or Business Management. Your combined GPA must be at least 6.50. For A-Level students, you must have studied one of these subjects: Business Studies, Accounting, Economics, or Mathematics.
O-Level and A-Level: You need at least 5 O-Level subjects (2020-2023) and 2 A-Level subjects (2024 or 2025). Among 7 subjects, you need a B grade in 4 and a C grade in 3. (For Business Studies, the other 3 subjects need at least a D grade.) A D grade is not accepted for Science and Arts. Grade points are: A = 5.0, B = 4.0, C = 3.5, D = 0.0.
How to Apply
The full DCU Admission 2026 process is online. Follow these steps:

Admit Card Download
You can start your DCU Admit Card Download 2026 from 5 July 2026. Log in to https://dcuadmission.org to get it. The admit card shows your roll number and serial number. Note: If quota seats stay empty, they go to the merit list. If a subject stays empty, seats can move to another unit.
Marks Distribution
Every unit has the same test format. The test is MCQ. It has 100 questions and 100 marks. The pass mark is 40. If you score below 40, you cannot get a seat. There is negative marking. The exam cuts 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. So answer with care.
Your final merit score is out of 120. The formula is: (SSC GPA × 2) + (HSC GPA × 2) + test marks. If you passed HSC in 2024, the exam cuts 2 marks from your score.
Science Unit: You answer 4 subjects. Physics and Chemistry are compulsory. You also answer 2 more from Math and Biology. Each subject carries 25 marks. You may replace your 4th subject with Bangla or English.
Arts & Social Science Unit: Bangla 25, English 25, and General Knowledge 50. You must score at least 10 in Bangla or English.
Business Studies Unit (Business Studies background):

Subject Choice Result

Final Admission
The admission period is 13 August to 27 August 2026. Classes start on 6 September 2026. To complete your admission, submit these papers to your college:
- Original mark sheets and attested copies
- Testimonial from your last institution
- Photocopy of your HSC admit card
- Photocopy of your SSC registration card
- 5 passport-size photos
The college keeps your original SSC and HSC mark sheets. Quota students must also submit their quota certificates.
