XI Class Admission Circular 2026
The circular is your rulebook. The Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education publishes it. It is also called the HSC Admission 2026 circular.
Circular date: The Ministry usually publishes the admission policy in late July, a few days after the SSC result. Last year the policy came on 24 July. Expect the same window this year.
Official website: xiclassadmission.gov.bd is the only official portal. Ignore any other site that asks for money.
Who runs it: The Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee manages the central system. Dhaka Education Board handles the technical side.

The final fee depends on location. Village and upazila colleges charge less. Dhaka metropolitan colleges charge the most. This fee covers admission, session charge, board registration, Red Crescent, and sports fees.
Seat Distribution
- 93% seats are open to all students, on merit.
- 5% for children and grandchildren of freedom fighters.
- 1% for children of Ministry of Education staff.
- 1% for children of staff of offices under the Ministry.
If a quota seat stays empty, it is filled on merit.
Application Eligibility
Check these points before you apply.
Exam passed. You must have passed SSC, Dakhil, SSC Vocational, or Dakhil Vocational from a recognised Bangladeshi board.
Passing year. Students who passed in 2024, 2025, or 2026 can apply. Bangladesh Open University students can also apply, and they must be under 22 years of age.
Citizenship. You must be a Bangladeshi citizen.
Group rules. This part matters a lot.
- Passed from Science? You may choose Science, Humanities, or Business Studies.
- Passed from Business Studies? You may choose Business Studies or Humanities.
- Passed from Humanities? You may choose Humanities or Business Studies.
- Passed Dakhil Science? You may choose any of the three groups.
- Passed Dakhil General? You may choose Humanities or Business Studies.
- Passed from Madrasah or Technical board? You may apply to general education board colleges.
You cannot move into Science if you did not study Science in SSC.
GPA. There is no single national minimum. Each college sets its own cut-off. Strong colleges often ask for GPA 4.50 to 5.00 in Science.
Manual applicants. Students with special needs, children of expatriate Bangladeshis, and BKSP students may apply manually at their board office. The board will verify their papers.
Outside the central system. Notre Dame College, Holy Cross College, St. Joseph, and St. Gregory’s take their own admission tests. Cadet colleges are separate too. Polytechnic and HSC Vocational admission runs through btebadmission.gov.bd. Apply to those institutions directly.
How to Apply: Online Application Procedure
Follow these steps calmly. Take your time. A wrong entry is hard to fix.
Step 1 — Keep your information ready. You will need your SSC roll number, registration number, board name, passing year, a working mobile number, and your quota certificate if you have one.
Step 2 — Open the portal. Go to xiclassadmission.gov.bd. Click “Apply Now” or register for an EDU ID.
Step 3 — Fill the form. Enter your roll, registration, board, and year. The system pulls your result automatically. Check your name and GPA on screen. Give a mobile number you actually use. All SMS updates go there.
Step 4 — Choose your colleges. Select at least 5 and at most 10 colleges. Put your dream college at number 1. Order is important. Migration only moves you up your list, never down.
For each college, pick the correct group, shift (morning or day), and version (Bangla or English). You may pick the same college twice with different shifts. Each of those counts as one choice.
Step 5 — Select your quota. Tick the quota box only if you truly qualify. You must show the original certificate at final admission. A false claim cancels your seat.
Step 6 — Pay the application fee. The fee is BDT 220.
Mobile banking (bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Upay):
- Open the app and tap Education Fee or Payment.
- Choose the XI Class Admission biller.
- Enter your application ID or registration number.
- Your name and the amount will appear. Check them.
- Enter your PIN and confirm.
- Save the transaction ID.
Sonali Bank payment gateway: Enter your registration number and mobile number. The amount appears. Complete the payment. Card payment is also supported.
Step 7 — Submit and verify. Your application becomes active only after payment clears. Return to your dashboard. The status must show Paid. Print or screenshot the final copy.
Tip: Keep your login ID, password, and payment receipt safe. You will need them for the result and confirmation.
Admission Result
The XI Class Admission Result shows the one college where you have been selected. Results come out in three phases. You are also told by SMS on your registered number.
Merit List Dates
- 1st merit list: 20 August 2026, 8:00 PM. This fills most seats.
- 2nd merit list: 28 August 2026, 8:00 PM. It uses seats left by students who did not confirm.
- 3rd merit list: 3 September 2026. This is the last automatic allocation.
Migration Result Dates
Migration moves you to a college you ranked higher. It is automatic if you keep the migration option on.
- 1st migration result: 28 August 2026, with the 2nd merit list.
- 2nd migration result: 3 September 2026, with the 3rd merit list.
- Final migration result: published before final admission begins.
Migration is optional. If you love your allotted college, turn migration off during confirmation. Then your seat is locked.
How the Merit List Is Prepared
The system is automatic. No person can change it.
- Your SSC GPA comes first.
- If two students have equal GPA, total marks are compared.
- If total marks are equal too, subject marks decide. Science looks at Mathematics, Biology, and English. Humanities and Business Studies look at English, Mathematics, and Bangla.
How to Check Your Result
- Visit xiclassadmission.gov.bd.
- Click Result or View Result.
- Enter your SSC roll, registration number, board, and passing year. Or log in with your EDU ID and password.
- Solve the captcha and press Submit.
- Your college name, group, shift, and version will appear.
Download or print the page. The site can be slow on result night. Wait a few minutes and try again.
Not selected? Do nothing yet. You automatically move to the next phase. You may also apply again in the next phase and add colleges with empty seats.
Selection Confirmation
This is the step most students forget. If you do not confirm, your seat is cancelled. Your application is then removed, and you must apply again in the next phase.

Confirmation Procedure
- Log in to xiclassadmission.gov.bd with your EDU ID and password.
- Open the Selection Confirmation option.
- Read your allotted college, group, shift, and version carefully.
- Choose your migration setting. Keep it on if you want a higher-choice college later. Turn it off if you are happy now.
- Pay the BDT 335 confirmation fee. This is the board registration fee.
- Pay through bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Upay, Sonali Bank gateway, or card.
- Wait for the success message. Refresh your dashboard.
- Check that the status says Confirmed. Save the receipt.
You pay this BDT 335 only once for the whole session. If you migrate later, you do not pay it again.
Confirmation does not mean you are admitted. It only holds your seat. Final admission still remains.
College Admission
This is the last step. You go to your college in person.
Dates: Final admission runs from 7 September 2026 to 14 September 2026.
Do it early. Do not wait for the last day. Colleges get very crowded near the deadline.
Required Papers
Carry originals and photocopies of:
- SSC or equivalent marksheet and certificate
- SSC testimonial or transfer certificate from your school
- Registration card of your education board
- Printed admission form from xiclassadmission.gov.bd
- Selection confirmation receipt (BDT 335 payment proof)
- 3 to 4 passport-size photographs
- Photocopy of your birth certificate or National ID
- Photocopy of your parents’ or guardian’s National ID
- Quota certificate, if you applied under a quota
Put everything in one folder. Keep an extra set of photocopies.
Admission Procedure
- Print your final selection copy from the portal.
- Visit the college on a working day, within the deadline.
- Submit your documents at the admission desk.
- The college verifies your papers and quota claim.
- Pay the admission fee, between BDT 1,500 and BDT 8,500.
- Collect your money receipt. The college must give you one.
- Collect your class routine, ID card details, and section information.
After that, classes begin on 15 September 2026.
Changing college later. It is hard. You will need board permission and a Transfer Certificate. Use the migration option before admission instead. That is easier and free.
Seat still empty? Some colleges enrol directly after the third phase. Contact them yourself.
